Dr. Peter Cull

Dr Peter Cull has a PhD from the University of New England, Armidale "Irrigation Scheduling of Cotton by Computer" (6MB PDF) Perceiving the importance of water management to Australian agriculture, Dr Cull further developed the application of his PhD studies such that the outcomes could be used by both dry land and irrigated agriculture. This involved simplification of the use of the neutron probe and its application in order that it could be widely adopted by the agricultural community. The neutron probes widespread adoption through Dr Cull's endeavors has led to the realisation by Australian agriculture of the importance of quantitative soil moisture monitoring.

Dr Cull's areas of expertise include: soil moisture monitoring instrumentation and application; measurement of soil and soil physical properties in agricultural and soil mechanics applications; soil plant water relations; irrigation scheduling; agronomy and crop management of cotton.

Dr Cull established ICT International in 1982 with the focus of providing world class quantitative monitoring technologies to both agriculture and the scientific research community. These technologies included soil, plant and climatic instrumentation. Key to the continued success of ICT International has been the integral philosophy of providing the necessary instrumentation and application knowledge in order for the customer to gain the maximum benefit from the monitoring solution.

Dr Cull has worked with many of the leading soil and plant science instrumentation companies from Europe and North America. He has also sold instrumentation in many countries of the world and often provided customers in these countries with training classes in the application and use of this instrumentation.
