Calibration
Decagon recommends that the SC-1 calibration be checked annually. ICT International has the facilities to perform this calibration locally.
Operation Modes
The SC-1 is able to measure in both manual and automatic modes. It is only recommended to use automatic mode on healthy plants. When using automatic mode, the SC-1 will prompt you to equilibrate the sensor head, if required, before taking the next measurement. This helps to prevent a build up of humidity in the measurement chambers and thus provides more repeatable readings. Manual mode is intended for special experiments or for measuring inert materials like porous polymers for example and should never be used for measurements on healthy plants.
