Compare various soil moisture sensors

Request Quote | Specification Sheet

EC–5 Soil Moisture Sensor
High-frequency operation (70 MHz) makes the EC–5 ideal for any soil type, including soils with varying degrees of EC (up to 8 dS/m). Its typical accuracy in any soil is ±3% without calibration and 1–2% with soil-specific calibration.

Supplied with 5m cable with 3.5mm jack plug.

Request Quote | Specification Sheet

10HS Soil Moisture Sensor
The 10HS Soil Moisture Sensor obtains volumetric water content by measuring the dielectric constant of the media through the utilization of capacitance/frequency domain technology. In addition, the 10HS sensors incorporate a high frequency oscillation, which allows the sensor to accurately measure soil moisture in any soil or soilless media with minimal salinity and textural effects.

Supplied with 5m cable with 3.5mm jack plug.

Request Quote | Specification Sheet

5TE Soil Moisture, Soil Temperature,
& Bulk Electrical Conductivity Sensor
The 5TE is designed to measure the water content, electrical conductivity, and temperature of soil and growing media.

Supplied with 5m cable with 3.5mm jack plug.

Request Quote

EC–TM Soil Moisture and Temperature Sensor
The EC–TM sensor incorporates a temperature reading into the traditional soil moisture sensor. Therefore, more data logger ports may be used for additional environmental measurements. Volumetric water content is obtained by measuring the dielectric constant of the media through the utilization of capacitance/frequency domain technology while temperature is measured using an onboard thermistor. The EC-TM sensor incorporates the same high frequency oscillation as the EC-5, which allows the sensor to accurately measure soil moisture in any soil or soilless media with minimal salinity and textural effects.

Supplied with 5m cable with 3.5mm jack plug.

MAS-1 4-20 milliamp water content sensor

The MAS-1 4-20 milliamp sensor is the first current-based sensor to use Decagon's trademark 70 MHz technology. This sensor offers a standard 4-20 milliamp output that is common with PLCs and irrigation controllers. With the 4-20 mA interface, cable lengths over 200 m are possible.

Aquasorp Isotherm Generator

Aquasorp is an affordable isotherm generator. A moisture sorption isotherm maps the complex, product-specific relationship between water content and water activity and is the key to understanding and controlling product formulation, product stability, moisture sensitivity, temperature effects, and drying characteristics. The Dynamic Dewpoint Isotherm (DDI) method gives full sorption isotherm curve development (hundreds more data points in days instead of weeks). An easy to use software program simplifies data collection and analysis, including BET and GAB determination.

MPS-1

Soil water potential is a key parameter for determining water availability for plant growth, water flow, and soil stability. Although an in-situ measurement of soil water potential has been the focus of considerable research over the years, existing solutions still have many drawbacks such as high maintenance, limited lifetime, individual calibration requirements, high cost, and small measurement range. The MPS-1 is a sensor that can be used in the field to accurately measure in-situ soil water potential without these limitations.

Drain Gauge (Gee passive capillary Lysimeter)
Chemical leaching is a growing concern to scientists, farmers, golf–course and waste site operators. The Gee deep drainage monitor provides an affordable and accurate solution to this problem. The Gee passive capillary lysimeter (Drain Gauge) is much smaller than comparable instruments, and its cost allows for more measurement sites over a large range of locations for the monitoring of deep drainage.
